Dr. Yan received EdD in Human Development and Psychology at Harvard University Graduate School of Education in 2000. He is Professor of developmental psychology at University at Albany, State University of New York, and the founding editor-in-chief of Human Behavior & Emerging Technologies by Wiley.
His research mainly addresses a basic question in the modern society: How do humans behave with technologies? He has been studying three technology-based human behaviors: computer behavior, cyber behavior, mobile phone behavior. His current research focuses on the psychology of cybersecurity, especially cybersecurity risk judgment.
Katherine Chen graduated with a B.A. in Cognitive Science from the University of Southern California. She is CompTIA Security+ certified and interested in human-centered cybersecurity.
Alice Gu worked at Microsoft for two decades, in various technical, sales and management roles. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science and an MBA in International Marketing.
Shuang Leng is an attorney licensed in Illinois and Texas. She works with startups and established companies. Her practice mainly focuses on corporate governance and transactions, commercial transactions, data privacy and security, and blockchain-related matters. Shuang is a certified information privacy professional (CIPP/US/E) with experience in both the US and European data protection laws. The CIPP is the global standard in privacy certification, developed and issued by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She is also a partner at Born Global Ventures, a venture fund focusing on early-stage tech startups (pre-seed and seed) led by resilient immigrant founders.
Jane He is a rising senior at New York University. She majors in Media, Culture, and Communication and minors in Integrated Digital Media. As a Lab Assistant in the NYU Steinhardt MCC Media Lab, Jane is constantly exploring the intersection of technology, humanity, and digital media storytelling. She is also interested in human-computer interaction and human-centric design.
